Kilos in Litres is a free calculator for converting mass in kilograms to volume in litres. Because kilograms measure mass and litres measure volume, every conversion uses the selected substance’s density.
How the calculator works
The calculator applies the formula litres = kilograms ÷ density (kg/L). It includes common reference densities for water, milk, cooking oils, fuels, and other materials, and it also accepts a custom density.
Our approach to accuracy
We show the density and formula used so each result can be checked. Published values are practical reference values; actual density can vary with temperature, pressure, composition, and product grade. Critical commercial, medical, laboratory, or engineering work should use a measured value or an authoritative product data sheet.
Privacy and access
Calculations run in your browser and do not require an account. The core calculator is available without a subscription or usage limit. Read our Privacy Policy for details.
